ARVANITIDIS Sterjos
Graphic artist,Painter, Conservator
Born in Daphne near Serres (Greece) on 11 October 1940.
He came to Yugoslavia with his parents in 1948, who fled to Yugoslavia as refugees, because of participation in the Partisan Movement. He was educated in Macedonia, former Yugoslav republic, and got a faculty degree at the Art Academy in Belgrade (1968). Employed by the Provincial Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage in Novi Sad since 1969, working on restoration and preservation of wall paintings, iconostases and old urban paintings. Headed many teams engaged in preservation of wall paintings and iconostases in a large number of churches and monasteries in Vojvodina. Also took part in many actions related to the preservation of cultural monuments in Serbia Proper and Kosovo-Metohija.
One-man exhibitions: Skopje, Bitola, Novi Sad and other cities.
