| Like the layers of fog, that should be read one by one so that you can conceive the whole Truth, the buildings on the Hornwork plateau should be revealed one by one in chronological order to conceive their historical meaning: Austrian horse-stables, a fun park, a mirror hall, studios... All in one place – in different times of inconceivable dimensions of space and time, with abolished diachrony, and a multitude of lives on a single site: in the long, understated, single-story building at Hornverk, with the plateau for cavalry and infantry exercises. To Slobodan Bodulić, it is just the right, God-given place at the Petrovaradin Rock, where the peace, the greenery and the Silent Danube give him freedom necessary to create his art. Isn't this more valuable, thinks Bodulić – than the material treasure once kept in the Fortress, the crowns, scepters and cloaks of the Austrian Empire? Empires have vanished, emperors, the sons of Heaven, gone, too, there are no more the Supreme Perfection and Wisdom, but the Fortress is still there! |
