| The secret life of the Petrovaradin Fortress does not mean conspiracies, the otherworldly, or the mystic fog of a hooded pagan priest who is firing up the kettle full of witchcraft stuff in a dark cellar. The secret life of the Petrovaradin Fortress is a fine, harmonious journey through time and a promise of parallel lives, which is available only to connoisseurs. Thus, as soon as one of the intuitive connoisseurs, Aleksandar Bošković, would cross the Varadin Bridge, at the same time the bridge-toll for the "secret life" would be paid, and the Secret World would open its doors for all miracles and mysteries. This initiation journey includes a particular door of a particular studio, and obligatorily, the sacred scent of turpentine, piercing like an arrow, and still soft as a bed of roses. In this sole, right moment, every sound of the Outer world would turn into a horn summoning to a battle, and every accidental biker would turn into a cavalryman dressed in a shining armor. The frame strips would turn into sharp, shiny swords, and drawing tables into nicely painted shields. Studios would turn into small fortresses: one for the allies, the other for the enemy, the third one neutral. These forms of life are conceivable only in dreams, because the Fortress is a dream we dream with eyes open wide. |
