GRKOVIĆ Dragoljub
Born on 12 November 1959 in Sarajevo.
Graduated from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Painting Department (1986). Works as a teacher of drawing and painting at Bogdan Šuput Secondary School of Art and Design,
Novi Sad.
He took part in many national and international group exhibitions.
One-man exhibitions: Paris (1996)
Awards: Award for drawing at the final-exam exhibition of students from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad; Award for painting at the "Youth Salon" in Sremski Karlovci.

| There is a bastion, named after St. Theresa – later Empress Maria Theresa! – Maria Theresa Bastion. It has two protruding terraces, but it is not their only purpose: one of them serves to hold the water supply line, and below the other one, there is the railway tunnel constructed by Karlo Bauman, a resident of Petrovaradin. Though, the hanging watchtower is what has always attracted attention. When it comes to this construction, the question that has always been asked is not only what we can see from there, but also the unpredictable question – where can it be seen from? Actually, the lucky one, who, guided by his love for the Fortress, takes a look from a certain point Inside the City of Novi Sad, toward the Magical Danube, the Danube that is only in this place, in this direction, always the same, so that you can always "take a bath in the Same River" – will see instead of the watchtower the suspended eye, which is exactly the scene of the soul that was familiar also to Leonardo da Vinci. You cannot take it for sure, but they say that Dragoljub Grković saw that eye and that he understood then that it was the main direction in which our universal sense can abundantly and beautifully watch the infinite works of the Nature. |
