| The first plan of the Fortress was made by military engineer Colonel Kaiserfeld, and the second one by the geographer Marsigli. When the two saw the drawings of Gibraltar on the Danube in their dreams, could they imagine that hundreds of years later, Slobodan Kuzmanović Kuza would be crossing the frozen River, towards the Fortress? First, of course, he had to be born, what he actually was in a house in 4 Lovćenska Street; then, he was looking, for a long time, over the sands of Liman, with puddles and willows, toward the Unconquerable Fortress. One winter, he set out to cross the frozen river. He made only fifty steps and fell through the ice. However, the Fortress gave him power of three cats and three tomcats and an iceberg to save him. Next time, he went on foot, over the “Maršal Tito” Bridge, to the foot of the Fortress, and then continued along a narrow path. He met the sculptor Prof. Jovan Soldatović, the painter Prof. Boško Petrović, the sculptor Pavle Radovanović, the painter Emil Bob, with whom he made ceramic items, the painter Jovan Bikicki, Mrs. Etelka Tobolka - the great manager of Art Workshop "Atelje 61", a great arstist Nikola Popržan, supreme craftsman for forged copper, with whom he worked on the Holy Mother of God at the Bođane monastery, and maestro Momčilo Petrović, specialist in wood carving and restoration, with whom he made a door for the Chilandari monastery. Slobodan Kuzmanović came to know them and hasn't left the Fortress ever since. |
