Sculptor

Born in 1953 in Belgrade.
Graduated from the Advanced School of Pedagogy and the Academy of Arts - Sculpture Department, in Novi Sad. Member of ULUV and UPIDIV. Her pursuits are sculpture, painting and drawing. In 1990, she devoted herself to the designing and making of decorative interior items and decorative lighting. These are carried out in metal and glass, in traditional stained-glass technique.
She exhibited at about 20 one-person shows and 50 group exhibitions in the country and abroad.
Awards: Award at Exhibition "Drawing and Small-Piece Plastics", Belgrade (1983); Award for sculpture at 22nd Novi Sad Salon, Novi Sad (1994).

When the Fortress mirrors in the water of the Grand Danube, it can see:  truth, sincerity, the  secrets of heart and consciousness. When Violeta Labat-Mitrušić was making her Mirror on the Fortress, exactly that power was transferred into It. She was creating it obsessed with palm's fruit, having in mind that a part of the nature in it was turned into a artistic sign. When you look at yourself in this Mirror, you can hear a song hovering above the Fortress: like the Sun, like the Moon, like water, like gold, be clear and bright and reflect what to have in your heart! Violeta reached for the energy and chose the way of simplicity and elementariness, which essentially meant longing for the Truth, her own or the universal one. The Truth as a necessary element of (each) esthetic expression: it turns a work into one of  Art.
