LAKIĆ Aleksandar

(Brčko, 1922 – Novi Sad, 1988)
Educated in Brčko, Tuzla and Vinkovci. In 1940, he moved to Belgrade, where he had lived and worked until 1944, when he got arrested and taken to the Banjica Prison Camp, and then to France. After the War, he worked for a short period as a clerk at the Ministry of Finance of the People's Republic of Serbia. Enrolled (1945) in the Art Academy in Belgrade, Class of Prof. Đorđe Andrejević – Kun. In 1950, started to work as an assistant in the Art Workshop of Đorđe Andrejević – Kun. Next year, he took part in many group exhibitions in Belgrade and became member of ULUS. Moved to Novi Sad in 1953 and worked as a teacher at the Secondary School of Applied Arts until 1956. In the years that followed, devoted himself solely to painting as an independent artist. He exhibited at many group exhibitions in the country and abroad.
One-man exhibitions: Novi Sad (12), Belgrade (2), Sombor (2), Apatin, Prigrevica, Subotica, Zrenjanin.
