A tapestry
| Never believe in what you see and be sure that something else is always hidden Behind, cautious people say. Moreover, when you see the Fortress be sure that it means not only the walls and the trenches: it is, in fact, part of the Great Scheme and it was built one wall after another, in same way as a silk thread is only a thread until it is woven into a piece of fabric. Well, isn't a labyrinth too made just of walls? Made without sense, they will get lost in the concrete… Nada Mančić stops every day at the foot of the Fortress, and then, step by step, she climbs up wishing to place each step of the Fortress in the right place. Full of hope and excitement, she absorbs colours, smells, pictures and sounds, patiently searching through the strings of the warp. Each new picture means a new beginning of endless patience from the first thread up to the infinity, the infinity of the Fortress. The woof is wrapping around, drawing an idea behind itself. Painful? Suffering? It flies! It screams! In giving, in creation, this is only a moment in the life of the Fortress, the years past and the years to come, believes Nada Mančić. |
