Studied at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Graphic and Visual Communication Dept.). Pursues graphic design and computer software.

| A huge display of objects and consumables has created a globally closed circle of effects and disordered systems of values. Demand and supply have been unnecessarily multiplied, consumption means mass enjoyment, objects have become merchandise with a feature of temporariness. Consumers' and artistic activities are, nevertheless, two features of the human being, which do not exclude each other. Discovering himself through the creative act, Danijel Maurić tries to introduce a certain order into the chaos of criteria and to establish a new state of spirit and new attitude (of man) towards objects. Computer graphics, animation and video, available like the artist's brush and paints, give him the possibility of unlimited subjective freedom. However, maybe it is only the Fortress that can maintain the equilibrium between the esthetic autonomy and esthetic distance towards life in the large functionalist container of alienation. |
