(Belgrade, 1939 – Novi Sad, 1998)

 

Finished Grammar School in Sremski Karlovci and graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy-English Language Dept., in Novi Sad. Worked as head of Education and Pedagogy Section of the City Museum, director of Children's Program Dept. at Novi Sad Television  and as member of editorial teams of literary magazines and book series. He wrote poetry, fiction, drama and theatre and radio plays for children. Also translated from English, Hungarian and Macedonian.

 

Books of poems: Bube u glavi (Bugs in Head, 1972), Triptih (together with M. Antić and P. Zubac, 1973), Čuvari trave (Grass Keepers, 1974), Novosadski soneti (Novi Sad Sonnets, 1974), Princes pesme (Princess Poems, 1977), Vremena teška viteška (Hard Times, Knights' Times, 1977), Godina (A Year, 1980), Uzmi veliki ekser (Take a Big Nail, 1982), Lutkomendija (Puppet Comedy, 1986), Svadba u Kani (Wedding at Cana, 1989) and  Nevaljale pesme (Bad Poems, 1990). Short stories: Posle čoveka (After Man, 1970). Children's novels: Trapavi zmaj (Clumsy Dragon, 1982), Ah, tata, tata, muka me hvata od tog vašeg rata (Oh, Daddy, Daddy, I Am Getting Sick of This War of Yours, 1984) and  Ko je ovde naručio princa (Who Has Ordered a Prince Here?, 1987). History novels: Gvozdeni beg  (The Iron Bey, 1982) and Kazivanje o Stefanu Nemanji (A Story of Stefan Nemanja, 1997). Children's plays: Priča o gorosečinoj sreći (A Story of Woodcutter's Luck, 1969), Ah, tata, tata, muka me hvata od tog vašeg rata (Oh, Daddy, Daddy, I Am Getting Sick of This War of Yours, 1970), Trapavi zmaj (Clumsy Dragon, 1972) and Hilperik (1979).  He also wrote and produced radio and TV plays and screenplays. He was editor of the magazine Poezija (Poetry,  1969).

26. The Sky was an endless emptiness, and the colour originated from something that could be called the fog. Fine, silverfish, or black like the night, the fog that like a mirror with counter effect reflected the water surface.
