NEDELJKOVIĆ Slobodan · Bata
Born in Novi Sad in 1952.
Graduated from the Faculty of Visual Arts in Belgrade in 1977. At the same Faculty, took a master's degree in 1982. Became teacher of Graphic Design at the Advanced Technical School in 1993. Later, took over graphic design subjects at the Academy of Arts.
Became member of UPIDIV and ULUV in 1978.
One-man exhibitions: Novi Sad (20), Belgrade (2), Priština, Kragujevac and Sombor, Stuttgart, Loewerkusen and Bergheim.
Also displayed his works in the countries of Latin and North America in the organization of Ljubljana MGC.
Also exhibited, on invitation, at prestigious biennials: Ljubljana, Maastricht (the Netherlands) and Yokohama (Japan).

Is the history of the Fortress the history of its walls, or personality? Do we talk about the time of bastions, parade plateaus, cannons, barracks and stables, or about simple people who inhabited the living spaces of the Fortress yesterday, today, tomorrow? Do we talk about the time of building of Maria Theresa Bastion, or about the time when Slobodan Bata Nedeljković visited, for the first time, the studio of his father Miša, who, in the year of 1970, of the 20th century, was creating his art in today's Mojak studio… The company was interesting: Žika Miškov, Dule Nonin, Mika Antić, Nidža Popržan and Moma Petrović on the right side, and the late Jovan Bikicki and Emil Bob, on the left. Beside them, Mića Mihajlović, the then idol of young painters. Feelings of Bata Nedeljković were contradictory: in the Studio, a lot of his father's paintings and antique items, and in front of it, pacifying wide green space. At that moment, at the age of 18, the Fortress seemed to him like a tired giant absorbing time, memories, failed and successful lives. There was no chance of leaving it any more. |
