| The very surface of a painting, says Igor Obrovski, is enough to wake up my wish for endless play over the canvas. I simply have to stop at a certain moment, to be able to say it is finished. However, it is still pouring into another one, to the infinity. The whole exhibition is, in fact, one painting. Sure, it is only a part that had to be separated. There still remain many stories to be told, that are difficult to create in two dimensions. Maybe, the next one will be some "objects" treated in this or that way. I am interested in the ancient, cave paintings, concerning the painting foundation and the size structure of the given format of the painting. Man has always been and still is in close contact with the foundation under the painted surface. This is where our need comes from, that sand with its structure, material and colour acts as foundation of the painted surface, as the most important factor of these paintings. My INTENTION was to show with easiness of a pre-historic painter (but still responsible for every drawn line and surface), the abstraction of the very painted foundation in combination with a form that is somewhere obviously amorphous and somewhere just 'delineated', emphasizes Igor. |
