Restorer, Conservator
Born in Novi Sad in 1968.
Finished "Bogdan Šuput" Secondary School of Art and Design - Architecture Dept. Member of Association of Applied Artsists and Designers of Vojvodina, founder of “Hilandarske dveri” Association of Restorers and Conservators, member of Likovni krug/Art Circle - Association of the Petrovaradin Fortress Artists, and lecturer at the Radnički univerzitet (local tech) in Novi Sad – course in conservation and restoration.
Restored some period furniture at Yugoslavia's Embassy in the Hague, did goldplating of interior details at the Presidential Residence in Tashkent, of the Theatre in Tashkent, Moskva Hotel in Belgrade, and also made a new iconostasis in Montenegro. She worked on conservation and restoration of the iconostases in Inđija and Donji Petrovci. Made a new altar screen for the Orthodox Church in Bolman (Croatia) and did a large number restorations or conservations of period furniture from private collections, carved icons and appliques for doors and interior decoration.
Took part in several group exhibitions.
Awards: Silver Prize at “Ambijenta”, the 8th International Salon of Furniture and Equipment, Novi Sad (1999).
| It is a great honour to enter into the calmness of an eternally live material like wood. Even after one hundred years, it still moves and works. It is a great happiness for someone, a great tenderness and beauty, when you learn the craft of the magician, how to think now, and backwards and forwards while the shapes of longevity are blooming from your fingers. Works of great artists are found all over the country at the iconostases of churches and monasteries, carvings and goldplated ornaments, the works that have restored their lives. Beautiful halls have been saved from oblivion, already dead ornaments have revived. Great artists are trying to explain a thought of the man to whom it has been entrusted to create the New World out of the rubble. It is a great honour to have the right to undersign not only a conservation and restoration work, but also an imaginative procedure. It is a great happiness to have the right to undersign yourself as the author of An Edifice with the name of Zorica Petrović- Miličević. |
