| The transcendental realm of the stage. Focusing on a different reality, on fiction characters, characters from a box space, giving at the same time illusion of infinity. Infinity and timelessness, re-questioning the world of illusions… The curtain falls and rises again. Spotlights turn off and on again. False doors, arcades and walls move, and the window guides your look towards the dark audience. Pillars, stairways and spotlights, revealing everything and hiding everything, are maybe components of a trap in which the characters are situated, and which provides the only possible space, the only existence for them. Stage as a challenge, stage as space filled with dazzling light, or with mysterious fog and shadows of illusion. The world that Mirjana Stojanović-Maurić is trying to decipher is complicated and puzzling. It is maybe the surrogate of another world, chaotic and real, which does not offer the solution either. Fragments of the stage illusion may offer solutions unknown to her, solutions that may exist. However, Mirjana avoids explanations, because explanations in works of art mean the destruction of the magic world of intimacy. The theatre is maybe a mask hiding the real face of dramas, visions, memories, recollections. (Idealized world in the slow swaying of the fan). Should we break the enchanted (theatre) circle or leave the masks of the Great Secret? |
